Between the Pengkalan, Pondok & Balai

When the RA and Police launched the Pengkalan Bit Polis in Serambi end of last year, I'm very sure there are bound to be some issue ... Where's the policeman? Didn't see them in at the bit? Why have police bit one if there is no policeman? etc etc.

Let me try to clarify these issue again. There are 4 types of police buildings. 1. Pengkalan Polis #2nd - Pondok Polis #3rd - Balai Polis and obviously the #4th is IPD - Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah.

The Pengkalan are not meant for the policeman to be stationed there. They will only drop by to sign in the log book every now and then whenever they do their patrolling around the area. That's the reason why you hardly see them at the Pengkalan Bit in Serambi.

Then recently, we have launched a Pondok Polis Komuniti in Birai U8/66. The Pondok is now manned by 2 policemen during office hours. They are also equipped with 2 units of motorcycle KAWASAKI Scrambler 250cc and 125cc. If you don't see them at the Pondok, they must be on the patrol or maybe back to Balai Polis Bt.3 for some official work. These 2 policemen are dedicated for Bukit Jelutong and they are also resident of Bukit Jelutong. There is also plan to relocate the Pondok Polis Komuniti to Dewan Guthrie for more visibility as the RA feel the location chosen by PDRM is not strategic.

So the next time you see any policeman on a 250cc Scrambler around BJ, they must be our L/C Azeem and En.Bakri. The RA is also in the midst of getting a sponsorship for Patrol Car to be used under the Community Policing Programme.

Balai Polis - The nearest we have now situated in BJ industrial area. There is a proposed plan to built a new Balai Polis for Bukit Jelutong (land next to Bomba) but at the moment there is no allocation from the government. The RA has revisit this issue with our OCPD Shah Alam recently. The issue was also brought up again to the MP and ADUN during the meeting we had recently.

What about the Bukit Jelutong Timur / Jalan Arca area?

I think there should be more security there too as it is near the main road and shops (MMZ, etc) and many foreign workers are loitering in the area.

I hope the management will also set up Pondok Polis and more 'rondaan' in this area because security here is so-so only.

Thanks.
